Overview
Jumbo Josh, also known as the Green Gorilla, is a mascot of Banban's Kindergarten.
Appearance
Depiction
Jumbo Josh appears to be a green, muscular giant creature, vaguely shaped like a quadruped with four stubby legs, two widening forearms ending with mitten-like fists, and a rather bulbous head. On his head, there are two bugged-out eyes and a mischevious tongue-less mouth shaped to a wide grin.
Monster
His monster form features veiny skin, along with a sort of orange splatter on his left arm.
Hurt
His Monster form in Garten of Banban II, Garten of Banban III and Garten of Banban IV looks identical to the one in Garten Of Banban apart from big dark spots on his body.Personality
Jumbo Josh seems to be somewhat of an aggressive type, showing hostility towards the player very often, he also seems to be gullible, as he fell for the trap that Sheriff Toadster set up for him in Garten of Banban 4, and seems to think some of the other cases are dolls, therefore treating them like they are, often checking in on his "dolls" to see if anything changes, if something does change within the room he houses them in, he'll realise his dolls are alive and attack.
Story
2016 - 2017 | Event 34
The Player gears up and enters the abandoned Banban's Kindergarten, with the goal of finding and saving their child who was enrolled in the kindergarten and was in the building during Bring a Friend Day. Their child was one of the children that were kidnapped by Stinger Flynn during Bring a Friend Day. While venturing through the Outer Sector, they come across Opila Bird who begins stalking them, similar to the behavior of a real predator. After entering The Ball Pit and completing the What was my Color? puzzle, The Player is met with Opila Bird riding a Chairlift towards The Player. Upon Opila Bird reaching The Player, she stalks them until she attempts to attack, but The Player activates a bridge using The Drone, allowing them to run away causing Opila Bird to begin pursuit of The Player. They then jump off the platform back onto solid ground and, just before Opila Bird can kill them, they activate the Emergency Stop, causing Opila Bird to fall down down the collapsed Ball Pit, hitting her head on the way down. The Player continues on, riding a secret Worker Lift down, but their ride is interrupted by Jumbo Josh, who climbs onto the lift, and because of his weight, it caused the lift to collapse and fall on top of himself, which knocks him out.
2016 - 2017 | Event 35
The Player wakes up laying on the Worker Lift, which is crushing a currently unconscious Jumbo Josh who has suffered injuries to his head, and body causing permanent marks on his body, The Player proceeds out to The Hub, where they then enter the Communications Sector, and hear Banban pretending to be a human security guard. He explains that he walked into the Security Office and the doors locked behind him. He asks for help getting out. He opens the Break Room and sends them to the Maintenance room, in the Maintenance Room Nabnab runs out of the darkness and begins pursuit of The Player. The Player manages to escape to the stairs, where Nabnab, whoโs locked in tunnel vision, smashes into the wall, knocking him out. The Player escapes the situation, rushing to the Security Office to let Banban, or whoever they think is the security guard, out. When they enter the room, no one is inside, and there is a note on the table. The Note reads, "If you read this fast enough, you might be able to escape, but Iโm going to hit you very, very hard :)" and before they are able to finish reading it, Banban strikes them in the back of their head explaining that he has captured you to have the perfect surgical specimen as well as all their keycards. Banban then takes the unconscious body of The Player to the Medical Sector where he presumably performs surgery on them. He then stitches The Player back up and dumps their body in the Storage Room of the Medical Sector.2016 - 2017 | Assembly =
Somewhere in the facility an unknown being calls assembly just as The Player enters the Assembly Room and following the protocols of ASSEMBLY the facility automatically shut the door behind them locking The Player in the middle of the most dangerous room inside of the facility Banban rises up from an unknown area riding a Worker Lift behind a piece of reinforced glass, he tells The Player that ASSEMBLY has been called and all of the walkways open with all of the monsters converging upon the room, Jumbo Josh's hand comes out of his door and Banbaleena runs out of hers, The Player follows the instructions of Banban and runs through Opila Birdโs walkway which she is not in because she is attending to her children, running through it Jumbo Josh and Banbaleena chase the player with Jumbo Josh breaking through doors and windows attempting to kill the player but all of these attempts are in vain as The Player reaches the end of the hallway opening a door on the roof tricking Banbaleena into running under it causing Jumbo Josh whoโs just trying to take either one of them to crush her into the floor at take her into the darkness as she screams. The Player opens the door to the next room and rides a Worker Lift down to Floor B2.
2016 - 2017 | Monster Fight
The event starts after the bird race ends with the Player riding on Tarta Birdโs back into another section of the room with Opila Bird and a Baby Opila Bird riding on her back following not to far behind. Hellish Banban, chases Tarta Bird and The Player into a room. Upon catching up, Feral Banban tells the Player, "You can run away, but the smell of your pancreas will always draw me to you...". Before he can kill The Player, Jumbo Josh unexpectedly stomps into the room, shaking the entire room with every step, getting Banban's attention. This distraction allows Tarta Bird and The Player, who are soon followed by Opila Bird and her baby, to escape to a higher and safer area where they watch as the fight escalates. Jumbo Josh stomps closer and closer until Banban jumps onto him, where he begins punching Jumbo Josh over and over again but Jumbo Josh is tottaly unphased by this and just picks Banban off of him like a fly and throws him onto the floor before crushing him into the round with his left hand. Before Jumbo Josh could use both of his hands to kill Banban, he is interrupted by Stinger Flynn, who pushes Jumbo Josh away before emerging from the darkness. He then orders Jumbo Josh to stop and goes in with his stinger attempting to put Jumbo Josh into a dream state, but the Jumbo Josh immediately dodges Stinger Flynn before grabbing him. He then shows his true strength by throwing Stinger Flynn to the ground with all his strength, shaking the entire facility, the shaking causing Tarta Bird to lose his balance and fall onto the concrete floor below. Horrified by this, Opila Bird looks at the Player, letting them know that she is entrusting them to take care of her child, before jumping down to save Tarta Bird. The Player and the Opila Chick proceed to the next room, leaving a knocked out Banban, Jumbo Josh, and Stinger Flynn, and an injured Opila Bird and Tarta Bird behind. They are left with one message when advancing to floor B3, "find the kingdom, find the sheriff, and avoid Bittergiggle." :)He shows hostility to humans.
Gameplay
Garten Of Banban
Jumbo Josh is a surprise at the end, after the Player uses the elevator to go down. After descending for some time, the elevator abruptly stops. An alarm can be heard blaring, and Joshgrabs onto the elevator and stares at the player before the elevator drops and plummets further down,
Garten of Banban II
Jumbo Josh returns in Garten of Banban II. At first, he is seen crushed under the Chairlift seemingly dead, but later, it's revealed that he survived as we can see a Givanium trail leading to the room in which he was crushed, if followed by the Player, They will discover that he has left the room. He is seen again at the end of the game where he pursues the Player alongside Banbaleena in Opila's Walkway by punching through doors. When this happens, his large hands block the Player until he then retracts his hands. The pursuit ends as the Player reaches the end of the walkway, the Player must get Banbaleena to step on the blue X-Mark in order to crush her with Jumbo Josh's fist, after she's crushed by Josh he takes her away to The Jumbo Watch Room. If the player steps onto the X, they are the one who gets crushed instead.
Garten of Banban III
After the player completes the surgery on Nabnaleena. the Player, following Banban's directions, goes to the Aqua Sector and plays the disc they received. Nabnab and Nabnaleena will approach one another, they proceed to walk off, but Jumbo Josh can be heard disrupting their meeting and taking Nabnab away as Nabnaleena runs away to the Spider Room. Then, Stinger Flynn grabs the Player and puts then in one of his flashbacks. It is then revealed that Jumbo Josh is not a fan of Stinger Flynn but he has never been, this is because he is Jumbo Josh. When the flashback finishes, The Player wakes up in the Jumbo watch room with Banbaleena and a unresponsive Nabnab also present. Here, Jumbo Josh will periodically appear in the window and look around the room. If any doors are left open (they are closed prior to the player being present in the room), any blocks are not in their correct places, or the Drone is spotted, Jumbo Josh will attack the player shortly after Banbaleena points out the difference. He will also attack if he spots Banbaleenas equation on the whiteboard. Jumbo Josh is also later involved in the Monster Fight at the end of the game, battling Banban and Stinger Flynn.
Garten of Banban IV
Shortly after Banban and the player arrive in the Feeding Sector, Banban suddenly tells the player to get down while on the bridge. Jumbo Josh then appears below, and sklaw towards some vegetables placed on a table, but before Jumbo Josh picks up the vegetables, a trap set up by Sheriff Toadster activates, taking Jumbo Josh away. Jumbo Josh later appears contained in a room, and is chained to the ground by Sheriff Toadster to prevent Jumbo Josh from escaping.

Garten of Banban VII
When Sir Dadadoo and The Naughty Ones escape Queen Bouncelia's pouch, Syringeon has an idea to trap Jumbo Josh and unleash him to battle them and all the mascots under Dadadoo's control. Instead of catching him, Syringeon lures him to Sir Dadadoo and his army. Jumbo Josh makes quick work of them and defeats Sir Dadadoo and destroys the queen's Scepter by eating it before he is gone for the rest of the chapter.
Trivia
- There's a secret Jumbo Josh Lounge that can be accessed by scanning the QR code on one of the Boarding passes in Garten of Banban, which sends you to a page on the Euphoric Brothers Website.
- Josh has the second most screen time, the first being Opila.
- It was believed that Jumbo Josh had killed Banbaleena because it was not known what happened to her, but it was later discovered that he simply captured her and placed her in the Jumbo Room.
- Jumbo Josh is 1 of 5 siblings, the others being the colors lime, pink, blue, and orange, which are seen in the Jumbo Josh Lounge which is canonically heaven in the Garten of Banban Universe.
- He is one of the strongest monsters in the game, as seen in Garten of Banban III when battling Stinger Flynn and pulling him down to the ground, despite Stinger Flynn being larger than Josh. This is in reference how he is the natural enemy of Jumbo Josh.
- The only times Jumbo Josh can kill the Player instead of just scaring them are when they step on the X at the end of Garten of Banban II or if he spots them in the Jumbo Josh Lounge in Garten of Banban III.
- A rainbow Jumbo Josh can be seen in Garten of Banban's mobile port on the title screen.
- It's theorized that the orange-red splatter on his left arm is the blood of a child.
- As of Garten of Banban IV, Jumbo Josh and Opila Bird are the only characters to repeatedly appear in every Garten of Banban game for now until he did not appear in the sixth game.
- Jumbo Josh will always look directly at the player in the first Garten of Banban regardless of where they are. This means when hacking the game to trigger the sequence of him grabbing the elevator, and the Player goes behind Josh, his head will seem to rotate around to look behind himself at the Player.
- The chase sequence in Garten of Banban II involves two separate versions of Josh being hidden out of view below the walkway, the game frequently teleporting one of them into place for the sequences where he punches through the doorways. His model is stretched out in order to land each punch.
- The part of this scene where Josh punches both of his fists through the wall simultaneously to trap the player also involves one of these instances phasing through the walls into place before he can do his punching. This happens right in front of the Player in-game but can be hard to notice as it takes a split second for him to be phased over to the Player's right side.
- It's possible that while writing the character of Jumbo Josh the Euphoric Brothers had an immense hatred for Stinger Flynn.
- It is meme'd that Jumbo Josh plays Garten of Banban the entirety of his afternoon, implying that Jumbo Josh is aware of the fact that he is in a game.
- Another popular meme involved him is the "I'm Jumbo Josh, brah." meme from Zamination where he says, "I'm Jumbo Josh Brah! From indie horror Garten of Banban, brah!"
- Jumbo Josh had a code named after his meme'd nickname in Garten of Banban Roleplay called zumbosauce (As of now, the zumbosauce code is outdated).
- Jumbo Josh doesnโt appear throughout the gameplay GOBB VI.
- Although he doesn't appear in Garten of Banban VI, he makes it to the teaser trailer 2. It is seen he breaks of the barrels Sheriff Toadster trapped him with but he managed to escape. It is thought that he is now residing in the lower floors unlike the other mascots. This could also be same for Slow Seline as she didn't appear in the sixth game.
- In the tweet for the announcement for Garten of Banban: Punchrush, the Euphoric Brothers replied to almost every tweet with, simply "jumbo josh on drone".
- Jumbo Josh is set to appear as a guest character in the crossover indie platform fighter "Cross Impact".
