"Treat others how you would like to be treated. With respect!"
- Sheriff Toadster
Overview[]
Sheriff Toadster also known as Case 9 and The Sheriff, is a mascot at Banban’s Kindergarten. He’s a major ally in Garten of Banban IV, making his first appearance in Garten of Banban II
Appearance[]
Toadster's depiction is a brown pot-bellied toad with a miniature top hat on his head, as well has a yellow star badge. He acquires a cartoon smile, with one row of teeth, and is short in height.
Toadster's monster form shares many similarities to his depiction, with the exception of his body covered in vain. and his body taking more appearances of a real life toad.
Personality[]
He appears to be a benevolent sheriff who will do anything to ensure justice and protect Queen Bouncelia's kingdom from threats. After being found by Bouncelia, the Sheriff swore to always protect the queen. His Western influences are prevalent in his accent and his constant referral to you as "partner." His dialog is often blunt, and as a sheriff, he is competent, stoic, and precise with capturing the other mascots, only having issues with Banbaleena. He struggles with trusting others specifically humans due to the way he was toiled by them in the past.
Gameplay[]
Sheriff Toadster is one of the new characters introduced in Garten of Banban II. However, he is only seen through murals in the game, and his monster form is not revealed.
While Sheriff Toadster still never appears in his monster form, he does play a small part in Garten of Banban III, that is with a puzzle. He has a containment area, that can be accessed after completing the first Stinger Flynn Mode, whose habitat can be described identical as to a swamp, with his own jail which is involved in a puzzle. It is not specifically a containment area; there are chairs and activities for kids to enjoy. There is also another puzzle which is explained by a mural featuring Sheriff Toadster next to it, which is activated by a Keycard Reader, where the player is required to jump on light trails which lead to platforms on a dance floor. Finishing the mini-game allows the player to exit the room and therefore progress further in the game.
Sheriff Toadster's monster form finally appears in Garten of Banban IV, and the game's thumbnail shows that he is an important character in the game. After the player escapes Tamataki & Chamataki, he traps the player with a fake yellow drone controller and interrogates them. After a few questions, he takes the player to Queen Bouncelia, and they begin talking about the player, and how Queen Bouncelia and Sheriff Toadster are going to try and help the player find their child. Once the player and Sheriff Toadster begin looking for the elevator parts, Sheriff Toadster mentions that Bittergiggle has gone rogue and is trying to make Queen Bouncelia laugh, but this shouldn't happen as this means The Naughty Ones will escape. It is at around this time that Little Beak reappears, and the three characters arrive at the Transportation Tunnels. Once the player finds all of the tickets, Mr. Kabob Man appears and gets on, with Sheriff Toadster and Little Beak getting on after. Once the player gets on and activates the cable car, Sheriff Toadster begins talking to the player about living in the kindergarten.
When the four characters arrive at the Ventilation Sector, all except Mr. Kabob Man get off and begin looking for the elevator part, but are stopped by a locked door. The player then uses Little Beak and their drone to unlock the door on the right, which leads to the Bittergiggle Room. However, when the Player enters, the door closes, separating the player from Sheriff Toadster. Sheriff Toadster then leaves to try and get the door open. A few minutes later, Bittergiggle appears and then chases the player, but Sheriff Toadster opens the door and throws a toadstar at Bittergiggle, causing him to retreat in pain. Sheriff Toadster then reveals that Bittergiggle is the jester he was talking about and that he also managed to open the correct door. When the player, Sheriff Toadster and Little Beak enter the Ventilation Room, Sheriff Toadster realizes that Nabnab is stalking them in the vents, so the player uses Little Beak to get the other side and collect the part. Afterward, the three characters return to the Transportation Tunnels and back to the Housing Sector. Sheriff Toadster then leads the player to the elevator, and the player gives the part to him. Sheriff Toadster and Little Beak remain there, while the player goes back to Queen Bouncelia.
When the player gets back from finding the second elevator part, they give it to Sheriff Toadster, who congratulates the player for their effort. After the player talks to Queen Bouncelia again, they go to the Infirmary to find that Sheriff Toadster has locked up Slow Seline, Banbaleena, Opila Bird, Tarta Bird, Jumbo Josh, and Stinger Flynn. He made Toadster Archives for all of them except Stinger Flynn which contains information about these "criminals".
When the player gets back from finding the third elevator part, they find that Sheriff Toadster is lying unconscious in the kingdom, which was the result of either Bittergiggle or Kittysaurus. After Bittergiggle successfully makes Queen Bouncelia laugh, Sheriff Toadster then appears to escort the player to the elevator, but Bittergiggle begins chasing them. Fortunately, Sheriff Toadster and the player make it to safety. Something peculiar is that Stinger Flynn is on the elevator with them, and Sheriff Toadster explains that he let all of the other "criminals" go, with the exception of Stinger Flynn, due to his useful knowledge. Sheriff Toadster then says that they need to find the queen's scepter to stop The Naughty Ones.
Sheriff Toadster first seen in the beginning of this game. He goes with The Player to lower floor after ending of GoBBVI. After reaching Scepter Room's Door he stay next to the door. After Player comes back with Bittergiggle he runs away to save Banbaleena.
Sheriff Toadster is first seen in the Back room in the Bar in the GoBB VII. He gives the Red Keycard to The Player and asks him to go to Motel and find a Citizen, who knows some information about Jumbo Josh.
At the very end of the Rooftop Chase Sheriff Toadster reaches out his hand to grab the player as she jumps a really large gap, when they reach the top of the rooftop Hellish Naughtified Bittergiggle follows but Toadster kills Bittergiggle by throwing one of his famous Toadstars at him. Bittergiggle de-naughtifies and bleeds out in Sheriff Toadster arm…Story[]
Sheriff Toadster was made to be the kindergarten's resident and sheriff who would help stop any bad guys, or criminals. However, a discussion between his creators led to him being cut from the kindergarten family, for one reason. There weren't any criminals around,
meaning Sheriff Toadster was pretty much useless.
Voiceline Transcripts[]
First confrontation:[]
- Listen up, criminal, that whole act of you being unconscious won't work on me.
- You're a prisoner now. You'll do what you're told without any questions, understood?
- Now, you're first task is very simple. I will ask you yes-or-no questions, and you'll answer them using the buttons on your left and right.
- Facing forward, the button on your right is a "yes", and the button on your left is a "no."
- Question one.
- Someone locked up all the criminals in the swamp on the level above. Was that you?
- (If the player answers Yes) You saved a lot of time for someone who needs every minute on their hand, so thank you for that.
- That someone shall not be mentioned.
- (If the player answers No) Interesting... huh, I wonder who did that then.
- Moving on. Have you ever come in contact with the threat shown on the board?
- (If the player answers Yes) Really? I'm surprised you're still in one piece.
- (If the player answers No) No? Well, consider yourself lucky. That's a crazy one.
- Third question.
- Have you ever come in contact with the threat shown on the board?
- (If the player answers Yes) Adds up.
- (If the player answers No) That's not what I heard.
- Fourth question.
- Have you ever come in contact with the threat shown on the board?
- (If the player answers No) I thought so. You must have come from the floors above.
- (If the player answers Yes) Yeah? I'm gonna need every bit of information you've got on that one... but later.
- Fifth question.
- Have you ever come in contact with the threat shown on the board?
- (If the player answers Yes) That one gives me the creeps...
- (If the player answers No) Well, you'd better keep a wider eye on the ceiling. That one strikes from every angle.
- (If the player answers Yes to every prior question) What are you, some bounty hunter?
- If you are, then you suck at your job. 'Cause you caught nobody.
- Sixth question.
- Have you ever come in contact with the threat shown on the board?
- (If the player answers No) I hope the rest of your answers were as truthful as this one.
- (If the player answers Yes) I could tell something about your answers was fishy.
- (If the player answers Yes to every question) Either you love answering "yes" or you hit your head too hard. I've never seen you before.
- Alright. Grab your belongings from the back and step out of the room.
Post-confrontation:[]
- What a waste of time. You don't even work here.
- What on earth are you doing this deep down, partner?
- You know what? Follow me. We can talk more inside. It's not very safe out here.
- Careful here. It's not very sturdy
Arriving to the Kingdom:[]
- Welcome to the kingdom.
- It's not up to me to decide what to do with you, partner.
- We need to talk to the queen. And when we do, show respect.
Talking to the Queen:[]
- Your majesty, I've finished interrogating the new captive.
- Zero. They don't talk much, and I think they came from the surface.
- I'm afraid not.
- Not too well. It's missing some crucial parts. Three to be exact.
- Yes, your majesty. I was previously too occupied to go and collect 'em.
- But, your majesty, we should be focused on protecting you.
- Alright, you heard the lady. Let's head to the station, partner.
Walking to the station:[]
- You get by too well for someone who doesn't utter a word, you know that?
- Maybe I should talk less, and see where that gets me.
- Much of what the Queen said has really downplayed our situation.
- We're in trouble. A lot of trouble, partner.
- (If the player answered No to question four) The queen's Jester has gone rogue.
- (If the player answered Yes to question four) The Jester, who you claim to have met before, has gone rogue.
- No matter what happens, he must not make the Queen laugh. Otherwise, what's in her pouch escapes and we all die.
Arriving at the station:[]
- The three parts of the elevator are scattered across three stations, which we can get using this old transport system.
- I believe it's two tickets per rider. Two for me, two for you, and two for Little Beak here. There should be some scattered around here.
On the tranport system:[]
- Y'know, I get your confusion, partner. I really do.
- What's a massive bipedal toad with a hat protecting a giant purple kangaroo queen for?
- After I was thrown down here by your kind like I was trash, I was hopeless, aimless, cold, and miles away from the promised surface.
- Long story short, I was found and accepted at my lowest.
- It was then that I declared myself the ultimate protector of the queen.
- It's a cause worth fighting for. Good-hearted individuals deserve protection.
When arriving at the Ventilation Sector[]
- We're here partner. Let's get this over with.
- The part we need should be in the administration room within the ventilation corridors, but it looks like the door is locked.
- Oh what? What's happening?
- You stay in there and don't move. I'll figure out a way to get the door open.
After the door unlocks and Bittergiggles's first appearance:[]
- PREPARE TO GET TOADSTED!
- These toadstars never disappoint, partner.
- (If the player answered No to question four) That, my friend, was the jester I was talking about. AKA Bittergiggle.
- (If the player answered Yes to question four) You think he recognized you?
- He now knows we're not at the kingdom. Let's grab the part and get out of here.
Entering the Ventilation Room:[]
- Wait. I know my enemies. We're being stalked.
- These vents are interconnected. They make perfect traps.
- I'm sure there's a way we can tell which ones are rigged. We just need to figure it out.
Collecting first Gear part:[]
- That's the part we need from this section. Let's head back and see if it'll fit.
Heading back:[]
- Let's head for the elevator and see if the part fits.
Placing first Gear part:[]
- Perfect! That's one of three.
- I'll stay here and put everything together. For now, maybe just hang around the place and talk to the queen when you're ready.
Placing second Gear part:[]
- That's two of three. Great work, partner.
Toadster Archives:[]
- (This section has been moved to the page: Toadster Archives)
Bittergiggle chase scene:[]
- We've gotta run! This entire floor's going down!
- The Naughty Ones are escaping!
- I've managed to get the elevator to work, but only partially.
- It can only go down, but right now we have to escape this entire floor to anywhere else.
Going down the elevator to Floor -5[]
- Everything we've worked so hard to build... just ruined...
- I've let the other prisoners go but grabbed this one. The things he knows will definitely be useful.
- If we make it down there alive, we need to find the queen's scepter. It's the only thing that can stop this madness...
At destination[]
- The though of what could be happening on the floor above terrifies me…
- Picture hundreds of angry animals finally escaping with only one thing capable of giving them peace, and that’s to get you and your friends; their captors.
- I’m not gonna sugarcoat it. We’re in big trouble, partner.
- We can’t stay here long. Unless you want to be swallowed whole with sharp teeth making you easier to digest.
After opening the white door[]
- That’s our ticket out of here partner.
- Follow me. I know a place where we can hole up.
- It ain’t the prettiest, but it shouldn’t be occupied at least.
After the lights suddenly turns off[]
- Oh what?! Come on. We can’t stay in the dark! Let’s head to that light over there!
- Phew. We should be safe for now.
At the Storage Bay[]
- Man, do I not miss this place.
- This is where I took refuge after being dumped by your kind.
- Many cold and lonely nights have been spent here. Ones I wish to forget.
- I was found by the Queen and Bittergiggle and a couple of others, and was foolish enough to let myself believe that things could get better.
- But here I am. Back to square one.
- Like I told you earlier, we need to get the Queen’s scepter as soon as possible.
- It’s the one thing that can allow us to recontain the Naughty Ones, and seal the door behind them.
- We had it stored in this room away from anyone that could get to it, hoping we would never have to use it again.
- But here we are. The door opens by activating four switches scattered across the different sectors on this floor.
- The Naughty Ones despise the light. You should stay safe from them as long as you stay in lit spaces.
- The first thing we should do is find a way to safely get to the other sectors. Let’s have a look around.
If the player finds a note behind the bushes[]
- I saw you poking through the bushes over there. Did you find something?
Going up the pipes[]
- Careful up there!
Coming back down after getting the light source for the drone[]
- Hey partner, do you happen to know anything about someone who tricks others and imprisons them?
- This dame claims someone kidnapped and imprisoned her for some time, but she managed to escape.
- I have a feeling the culprit is incredibly clever and good at what he does, and that he’s very handsome.
- My gut feeling is never wrong, and something tells me HE IS very handsome.
- But you came to the right place, miss. It should be safe here for now.
- We ought to find the culprit, but let’s make sure we are alive to do so first.
- How about you head over to the Introduction Sector and look for the first switch. I’ll have Stinger Flynn transported here.
- Mrs. Mason, you seem to have been through a lot and we need everyone to stay focused. I think you should rest for now.
- May we get through this alive.
Player returns with Bittergiggle[]
- You have a lot of guts showing up here, Bittergiggle. I should take you out where you stand.
- Did you really think I would allow you in here?
- And look who it is. My partner in fighting crime turns out to be working with our most wanted criminal behind my back.
- I had a bad feeling about you the moment I saw you. I wanted to use you as bait for the other criminals, but the queen insisted we give you a chance.
- Should’ve gone with my instincts. As usual, I was right.
- You two should go. Your fate in here won’t be much better than you fate out there with the Naughty Ones.
- I don’t need no partners. I’ll find Little Beak, and together we’ll rid the world of monsters like you.
After a Naughty One kidnapped Banbaleena[]
- No! I’ll save you!
Meeting Sheriff Toadster in the alley[]
- From being the queen’s personal bodyguard to some bounty hunter living in the alley. What a humiliating downgrade.
- I couldn’t save Mrs. Mason if you were wondering. The naughty ones got her.
- I think I’m starting at my worst nightmare. A world ruled by criminals and lawbreakers, while the helpless heroes hide in fear.
- I would say we’re back where we started, but it’s worse than that.
- For all we know, everyone that you don’t see around here is either dead or brain dead.
- The mayor has you on that ridiculous plan of using the green gorilla against Sir Dadadoo, too?
- You’re on your own on this one. It’s impossible to pull it off without fake broccoli, and I’m all out of fake broccoli.
- We got someone in one of the apartment buildings claiming they have very valuable information about the whereabouts of the green gorilla.
- This red keycard will give you access to said apartment building. Wouldn’t hurt to see what they got.
After picking up the red keycard[]
- Maybe your kind was right to transfer me down here when they did. I belong in some forgotten alley next to all the garbage carton boxes.
- I’m not any more useful than they are…
Encountering Sheiff Toadster on the other roof[]
- Jump! I’ll catch you!
Catching the player[]
- I got you.
- this is not how i imagined I'd be spending my afternoon!
- Quick! Let’s hide inside!
Hiding inside[]
- I don’t understand.
- All I asked you was to go talk to the witness in order for us to find the whereabouts of Jumbo Josh.
- How did that end up with you running away from a crazed Bittergiggle on rooftops?
- go stand in the corner on my left, and dont make any noise.
- WHOA!
- calm down or i will have to take legal action!
- GET TOADSTED!
after throwing the Toadstar[]
- NO!
- I didnt mean to
- Okay, I'll try...
- why dont animals eat jesters?
- because they taste funny!
- goodbye, my friend...
- just leave me alone, please...
